FOR DEAF WOMEN RECOVERING FROM PEOPLE-PLEASING, PERFECTIONISM, OVERFUNCTIONING, AND BURNOUT

You've spent your life shrinking so everyone else feels comfortable.

The recovHER Circle is a 12-month circle to help you take up space again, exactly as you are.

Join the Circle

Kicks off 7 October and runs until September the following year. $3,800 for 12 months, split into $950 every three months through your NDIS plan. Held in Auslan.

Six years in practice. Fifteen retreats held. Every single one built around the same belief: recovery happens through talking and moving, not just one or the other.

KARLA DALY, FOUNDER OF RECOVHER THERAPY

01

Your problem isn't a lack of willpower.

Your problem isn't that you haven't tried therapy before.

Your problem isn't that you need to try harder.

Your problem is that support built for you, as a Deaf woman recovering from people-pleasing, perfectionism, overfunctioning, and burnout, has never really existed. And most recovery work stops at talking. It never reaches your body, and it never reaches the pattern underneath.

02

"I'm not asking you to do anything I haven't done myself."

I'm Karla. A trauma-informed counsellor, a Pilates and yoga teacher, and a Coda. I've built recovHER around the belief that talk alone often isn't enough. The body needs to be part of the work too.

THE FRAMEWORK

Four Levels of Recovery

01 Awareness Naming the pattern out loud, often the first time
02 Feeling it in your body Noticing what happens in your body when the pattern shows up
03 Understanding where it came from Seeing the pattern's roots, often generational
04 Living differently because of it The pattern shows up less, and you catch it faster when it does

Most support stops at level 1 or 2. This circle takes you through all four, across a full year.

PART 1

Monthly Circle Calls

Ten live group calls, one a month with a break in January, each month highlighting a theme relevant to the recovHER woman. Held in Auslan, facilitated by Karla, and small enough that you're known in the room. Attending live is optional, every call is recorded.

Today felt like the old pattern again.

PART 2

One-on-One Check-Ins and Direct Access

Three one-on-one check-ins across the year, timed to when you need them most. These are community support conversations, not counselling sessions. Plus direct access to Karla on WhatsApp between calls, for personalised guidance and tips in the moments that don't wait for the next session.

CARE PACKAGE

PART 3

The Rhythm

One care package across the year, and a book recommendation each month, optional, chosen to echo whatever part of the year you are sitting in. Small touchpoints that keep the year feeling held, not just scheduled.

AND RUNNING THROUGH ALL OF IT

A private group space

Between the monthly calls, and beyond them, this is where the conversation keeps going. Celebrate the small wins, ask the question you didn't want to ask on the call, and stay connected to the eleven other women in your circle across the year.

05

This is for you if you've been longing to

Say no without rehearsing it for a week first, then spending the next three days managing how it landed.

Stop being the one who holds everything together while nobody asks how you are.

Put something down before it is finished, or perfect, and let that be enough.

Rest without earning it first, and without calling it laziness afterwards.

Notice burnout at the first sign instead of finding out when your body stops you.

Understand what people-pleasing does in your body, not just why you do it.

See where the pattern came from, often generations back, and stop handing it on.

Have guidance from someone who has worked in this space for six years and signs in your first language.

Be known by eleven other women who recognise the pattern without needing it explained.

Show up imperfectly, on the weeks you have nothing to give, and still belong here.

The cost

$3,800

For the full 12 months. Split into $950 every three months, claimable through your NDIS plan under Capacity Building or Interpreting/Translation.

WHY IT COSTS WHAT IT COSTS

The Circle is priced so Karla can show up properly for twelve women across twelve months, rather than run a program in name only. Twelve spots, held for a year, by one counsellor who is in it with you the whole way.

This is the only place in her practice where she offers direct access to her day to day, outside of email and booked sessions. What you get here is more in depth than anything else she runs.

Nothing here needs an interpreter booked, briefed or paid for. Every call, message and session happens in your first language, with the person you are already talking to.

07

Three things holding you back

"I don't have time for a year-long commitment."

People-pleasing, perfectionism and overfunctioning took years to become automatic. Undoing patterns that old takes longer than a few weeks. One call a month, built to fit around your life, not take it over.

"I've tried therapy before and it hasn't stuck."

The Circle isn't therapy, and it isn't a closed six-week chapter you're left to maintain alone. It's ongoing peer support with guidance, and it works with your body as well as your mind. That's often the piece that was missing.

"I'm not sure a group setting is right for me."

Twelve women, held in Auslan, by someone who's part of your world. Not anonymous, not hundreds of people. It's intimate, and you'll be known here. You also don't have to attend the live calls. Every one is recorded, so you can watch later and take part as much or as little as your schedule allows.

What the Circle is, and what it isn't

The recovHER Circle is a peer support circle. It is not counselling, group therapy, or a clinical service, and joining it does not create a client relationship with Karla as your counsellor. The monthly calls and the one-on-one check-ins are community support, not treatment.

Karla draws on her training to hold the space well, and she keeps the two roles separate. If you are already seeing her for counselling, or you would like to, that stays a separate arrangement with its own agreement.

The Circle is not crisis support and Karla is not available for emergencies. WhatsApp replies come within business hours, in her own time. If you need urgent help, contact your GP, your treating practitioner, or emergency services.

Refund policy

Because this is a small, closed group, once you've committed to the twelve months and we've begun, full payment is required, even if you're on a payment plan and decide to withdraw for any reason. Payment plans exist so the Circle fits different budgets. Offering them relies on each woman here honouring her financial commitment, including if she needs or chooses to leave partway through.
